We sponsored Richard Williams (left in the photo) in the GB Porsche Carrera Cup race at Oulton Park on Sunday 14th May. He came 4th in the race and was named Driver of the Weekend.

Maiden victory for Team Debt People in charity endurance race

Business, sport and charity working together

natbpAs part of their ongoing commitment to sports, community and charity projects The Debt People recently sponsored a talented team of young kart drivers in an endurance race for the benefit of the National Bereavement Partnership.  The event raised a substantial sum for this exceptionally worthy cause and also helped to bring the charity some much-needed publicity.

Stars of the future

Team Debt People was made up of three of the brightest talents in junior karting in the UK; Peter O'Connor, Mike Tanswell and Adam Armstrong.  They raced into a strong pole position in the 2 hour endurance event at the Speed Karting centre near The Debt People head office in Cheshire.

The chequered flag

In the race itself Team Debt People led from start to finish, despite occasional warning flags and penalties for some of their manoeuvres.  Watched over by the managing partners of The Debt People, the team was nevertheless able to secure a comfortable victory, with the drivers taking it in turns at the wheel.  One of the company’s other partners, Dave Vant, actually drove for an opposing team but could make no impact on Team Debt People!

Supporting our communities

The drivers chose to present their winning trophy to The Debt People and it will take pride of place at the company’s HQ.  Speaking after the race, one of the partners said, “The Debt People are proud to be associated with such a worthy charity and to support the sporting talent of the future.  We will continue to support events like this and would encourage all reputable companies to make a positive contribution to the society and communities in which they operate.”

National Bereavement Partnership Operations Director, Helen Rickard, pictured here with Team Debt People and the company’s partners, expressed her gratitude for the financial and sporting contribution from Team Debt People, “we desperately need all the support we can get to provide an invaluable service to the bereaved in the UK and we are extremely grateful for the contribution from The Debt People and their young drivers.”
